Wanita’s Obituary
CROSS, Wanita Joyce ~ Age 76 of Kingston passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her home in Kingston, NS. Born in Middleton, NS she was a daughter of the late Ernest Cross and Hilda Fredericks. Wanita grew up in Middleton and at the age of 14 she moved to St. John’s Nfld. While in Newfoundland she met and married Robert and started her family and worked as a pharmacy assistant. She returned to Nova Scotia in 1982 with her children where she remained and resided in Kingston. Wanita was a big hearted, very social person. She was very involved in her church while her children were growing up and loved music especially gospel music. She also enjoyed dancing, crocheting, bible studies, shopping with her special friend “Betty”. Wanita was a “wicked” card player. She was best known for her amazing “hugs”. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Ricketts, Kentville, sons, Robert (Wendy) Ricketts, Nictaux, Terry Ricketts, Kingston, Barry (Michelle) Ricketts, Auburn, sisters, Patricia, Middleton, Jeanette (Fred) Searle, Long Pond, Nfld, Janice Clifford, ON, Elizabeth (Cal) Reid, Greenwood, grandchildren, Shauna (Robert), Robyn (Daphne) Cassandra, Gregory (Amanda), Robert “R.J”., Austin (Kailey), Liam, Parker, great-grandchildren, Elijah, Isaiah, Gavin, Sydney, Nova, Dax, Odynn, Everett, Brooks, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her stepdad, Doug Fredericks. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home; 398 Main St. toll free 1-855-825-3448.
