Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Wanda Marie (Stackhouse) Benjamin of Saint John, New Brunswick, announce her peaceful passing on November 10, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born July 27, 1954, in Saint John, New Brunswick. Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, William Nathan Benjamin. She was the daughter of the late John and Irene (Leblanc) Stackhouse.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Corrina (Christopher) Lohnes of Saint John; son, Cory Benjamin of Saint John; sister, Lynn Stackhouse (Karen Howell) of Alberta; brother, Derek (Dawn) Stackhouse of Saint John; grandchildren, Bradly Fudge (Kelsey), Kristen Lohnes (Bradley), and Ethan Dempsey; great granddaughters, Naya Fudge, Carly and Callie Coyle; as well as several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, Judy Rouse (Wayne) and Pam Painter.
Wanda worked in retail for over 35 years, where she made long lasting friendships.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Johny, Terry (Terrance) and Robert Stackhouse, and her in-laws, William and Myrtle (Aasen) Benjamin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Celebration of Wanda’s life will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 10am with interment to follow in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations in her memory to the Liver Foundation of Canada, Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings, all those 12 and older attending visitation and service will be required to wear masks and show proof of vaccination with a piece of government issued ID.
