Vincent Guimond
1940-2021
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Vincent Guimond, 81, of
St. Louis passed away peacefully in the presence of his family at the
Stella Maris Hospital on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021. Born in St.
Louis, he was the son of the late Armand and Alma (Gallant)
Guimond.
Before retiring, Vincent worked as a furniture salesman and
was also the manager at the COOP for many years. Vincent
loved being outdoors, the forest was his church. He was an amateur
musician and hosted many multi-day “music jams” and kitchen
parties at his home over the years. He beamed brightest when
surrounded by friends and listening to his wife and daughters sing or
play guitar. Although he couldn’t hold onto them in the end,
he created many wonderful memories for all who knew
him.
Vincent leaves to mourn his loving wife of 59 years, Melinda
(Savoie) Guimond; his two daughters, Jo-Anne Guimond (Brian Lawless)
and Stephanie Guimond (David Woods), both of Ottawa, ON; his sister,
Rose Marie Trépannier, of Val d’Or, QC; as well
as his two brothers, Paul-Emile Guimond of Timmins, ON and
René Guimond (Suzanne) of Espanola, ON.
Vincent will also be sadly missed by his sister-in-law, Lydia
Brideau of Néguac; brothers-in-law, Léo-Paul
Savoie (Viola) of Guelph, ON, Fernand Savoie of Bowmanville, ON and
Gerald Savoie of Toronto, ON; as well as by his many nieces, nephews,
cousins and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Memorial
Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm ONLY. A
funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, October
30th, 2021 at 11:00am,
Saint-Louis-des-Français Roman Catholic Church,
Saint-Louis. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to consider a
donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick (alzheimer.ca/nb/en).
Following provincial COVID-19 regulations, visitors will be
required to provide proof of double COVID-19 vaccination and
government issued ID at the funeral home and church, masks are
mandatory and we ask that social distancing is
respected.
