Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Velma White announce her passing which occurred at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Born in Yoho Lake, NB October 3, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James and Lillian Mary (McLaughlin) Chessie. Velma was a computer operator and worked for Maritime Beverages for many years retiring in 1995. She was a woman of great faith and was a devoted and dedicated member of the former St. Joachim’s Catholic Church and a member of the CWL . Both Ken and Velma enjoyed many years of bowling and clogging with Loyalist City Cloggers. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Those who knew and loved Velma will never forget her.
She is survived by her sons Steven of Saint John, Russell of Edmonton, AB and Timothy of Saint John; daughter Corinne Maxwell of Rothesay; grandchildren Jeff (Christina), Scott (Barb) Danielle, Taylor, Garrett and Venessa; great grandchildren Kayleigh, Brooklyn, Jamie, Sophie, Piper and Brody; many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Velma was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Kenneth White ; brothers Jerry, Gabe, Walter, Fearman, Hazen, Dual and Philip; sisters Mary, Margaret, Theresa and Agnes and daughter Patricia Ann in infancy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) Visitation will be held on Friday September 10 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated from Stella Maris Catholic Church, Bayside Drive on Saturday September 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
