Tommy Kenneth Hale – age 86 of Strawberry Plains, TN went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Tom retired from Rohm & Haas Co. after many years of service. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church since his youth. Tom’s faith was often expressed and shared with others through his love of singing gospel music. He sang with several gospel groups over the years. He loved to play his guitar and sing solos as well. His passion in life was working on his golf game. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He was very good at the game and continued to play it through January of 2021.
Preceded in death by parents, R. M. and Effie (Capps) Hale; beloved son, Kenney Hale; brothers, R.E. (Bud) Hale; sister, Sally Navetta; mother and father -in-law, Irene and Sam Farmer; brother-in-law, Amos Farmer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and Jimmy Riley.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Alyene (Farmer) Hale; grandson, Cody (Melissa) Hale; daughter-in-law, Missy Hale. He leaves many special friends that are too numerous to mention. One very special friend and golfing buddy, Don Watson. He will be missed by siblings, Betty Cox, Sue Compton, Janis Watson, and Sharon Mayes. He will be greatly missed by his church family and by his many dear friends and neighbors. The family wishes to thank Dr. Sudarshan Doddabele, MD, FACP of Tennessee Cancer Specialists for his wisdom, knowledge, and care of Tommy during his months of illness.
The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday, December 5, 2021, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Province, Rev. Doug White, and Ron Mayes officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 PM Monday at Thorn Grove Cemetery for a 2:00 PM interment.
