Thomas Alward Barter
1947-2021
KOUCHIBOUGUAC, NB – It is with profound sadness
that the family announces the peaceful passing of Thomas Barter 73, of
Kouchibouguac at the Stella Maris Hospital in Ste-Anne-de-Kent on
Thursday, November 4, 2021. Born in St. Stephen, NB he was
the son of the late Clayton Barter and late Marguerite (Kelly)
Barter.
Tom held many jobs over the years, including being a business
owner, a farmer and a Certified Engineering Technician. He was an avid
sports fan; Tom enjoyed all sports, but he had a passion for baseball
and the Toronto Blue Jays. He also enjoyed wood working but there was
nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his
family.
Tom will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years,
Connie Barter (MacDonald) of Kouchibouguac; two daughters, Tara Mann
(Matthias) of Riverview, Trish Hanscomb (John) of Fredericton; one
son, Tim Barter (Tracy) of Upper Coverdale and five grandchildren,
Zoey, Ethan, Noah, Leah and Grace.
He is also survived by one sister, Theresa Seamans (late
Ashley) of Fredericton; two brothers, Jim Barter (Debbie) of
Rusagonis, Bob Barter (Marion) of Fort Myers, Florida; one
brother-in-law, Danny DeCoste of Debert, Nova Scotia and many special
nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant brother,
Timothy and two sisters, Dorothy and Peggy.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 2:00
pm at Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel in
Richibucto. Donations in Tom’s memory may be made
to Santa’s Helpers which at the Credit Union in Rexton and
would be appreciated by the family.
Following provincial COVID-19 regulations, visitors will be
required to provide proof of double COVID-19 vaccination and
government issued ID at the funeral home. Masks are
mandatory and we ask that social distancing is
respected.
