Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and sadness we announce the passing of Terry Pachkowski on November 1, 2021. Terry was born to Nellie and Fred Pachkowski in Dauphin on August 8, 1948. He was one of five children, brothers Johnny and Ernie, and sisters Stella and Donna.
Terry grew up in Ethelbert where he met his future wife of 50 years, Adeline Pachkowski (née Choptain). They were married in 1971 in Ethelbert and moved to Thompson, MB where Terry worked at the Inco Nickel mine until he retired in 2000. In 1977 they completed their family when they adopted their son Brad.
Terry always enjoyed the company of the “Thompson family” as they were called; both blood relatives and close friends who created lasting bonds while braving the cold winters and rigors of northern life. Terry had a great time playing baseball with his friends and going fishing at Paint Lake or Mid Lake with his son up north. He looked forward to camping at Rainbow Beach or Manipogo during summer vacations spent visiting the extended family in the Parkland.
Once retired, Terry and Adeline moved to Dauphin, where Terry became a well-known entity at the Dauphin Kings home games. You could always spot him standing on the balcony behind the goal, overlooking the action on the ice, his prominent silver hair visible from every corner of the arena, and blasting the train whistle at every Kings goal.
Lately you may have seen Terry on his daily walks around the city of Dauphin, his game-show-host silver hair undisturbed by even the strongest of winds, wearing his Winnipeg Jets or Blue Bomber gear, or better yet a T-shirt with his precious granddaughter Zariah proudly displayed on his chest. His laugher and all-around good nature will be sorely missed.
Terry is survived by his lovely wife Adeline, son Brad, daughter-in-law Beth, granddaughter Zariah, Sisters Stella Chmelowski, Donna Rudkewich (Gord), and brother Ernie Pachkowski (Hilda); Mother-in-Law Mary Choptain, Sisters-in-law Diane Law (Don), Darlene Ek (Danny), Linda Barsewsky (Nestor), Iris Campbell (Beryl), Debbie Namaka (Michael) as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Terry is predeceased by his parents Nellie Pachkowski (née Kozak), Fred Pachkowski, brother Johnny, brother-in-Law Rupert Chmelowski, father-in-law Victor Choptain, brother-in-law David Choptain, and sister-in-law Susan Choptain.
A Private Memorial Service was held for Terry on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:00 am from the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin.

Interment followed in the Riverside Cemetery – Dauphin.
