Stephen Wayne Bissonnette

Stephen Wayne Bissonnette- September 5, 1959. It is with heavy hearts as we announce the sudden passing of Stephen ‘Steve’ Bissonnette (age 62) at home on Thursday, October 7, 2021. He was born in Halifax to the late Joseph Raymond Louis (Quebec) and Helene Gorman (Halifax). Steve is a retired Hull Tech with the military, where he served for 22 years.
In his spare time, you would catch him playing guitar (Every Rose Has Its Thorn), woodworking, walking his dog, spending time with his wife and grandkids, watching movies and hockey ‘all cuddly cozy’, or out in the yard decorating for the next holiday then he would stand back and look at all of his hard work with his contagious, goofy grin and give two thumbs up. Unfortunately, after a cancer diagnosis in 2016, and some other health concerns, it made it more difficult for Steve to continue to do a lot of these things that he loved. He is survived by his wife Tina (Carver); kids Mike, Hayley (Cory); grandchildren Taylor, Madyson, Ella, Dylan, Lucas; siblings Raymond (Donna), Jacqueline (Gordon), Roger (Tina), Anthony (Heather), Cecelia (Kenny) and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was predeceased by his first wife Ellen (Green) of almost 31 years. They are now back together, sipping a cold one at their camp with his patio lanterns up.
Cremation is taking place at the Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen Street, Dartmouth. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 45 Sackville Cross Road, Lower Sackville from 4-6pm. It is required to show proof that you are fully vaccinated.
The family would like to send out a huge thank you to Veterans Affairs and all of his medical care team that always supported and took amazing care of him. Also, thank you to all of the paramedics and firefighters that arrived quickly and did everything they could for Steve. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
