Shirley Stevenson
1935-2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing
of Shirley Stevenson of Riverview which occurred at the Saint John
Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 22, 2021. Born in Claresholm,
Alberta, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma (Lang)
Verschoor.
Shirley had retired from the Moncton Supply Depot #5
following several years of service. She cherished time spent at the
cottage in Barachois with family and friends, yet it was the special
moments with her grandchildren and great grandchildren that were so
precious to her. Playing cards, reading, and working her flower garden
were just a few of her past times.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters Patricia Stevenson
and Cindi Enright; sons David (Linda) and Jeffrey; grandchildren
Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Sophia, Jillian, Taylor, Warren, Andrea, and
Colleen; great-grandchildren Mahlia, Lincoln, William, Remi, and
upcoming grandson Gabriel; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donald, her
sisters June and Myrna, and her brothers Wayne and
Gerry.
Shirley’s family would like to express a sincere
thank you to the staff of the 4B South Neurological Intensive Care
Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their exceptional care
and concern not only for their mom, but for the family as well.
Honouring Shirley’s wishes, a private family service will be
held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 12pm at Cobb’s Funeral
Home and Cremation Center (869-2007) 330 Whitepine Rd in Riverview.
For those who wish to view the service, please join us online, as the
service will be streamed. Donations to the Canadian Red Cross, the
Canadian Mental Health Association, or the Canadian Cancer Society
