Obituary of Shirley Jean Shea
Shirley Jean Shea passed away peacefully on May 10, 2021 at the age of 88 years after a two year struggle with cancer. Shirley was born June 5, 1932 at Trochu, AB and spent the first few years of life at Ghost Pine where her parents owned and operated the Ghost Pine Store. She was the oldest of three children born to Claude and Martha Davidson. Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Dan, in 2015 and by her sister Maureen Mc Cracken in 2019. She is survived by her brother Gerry Davidson (Luvia) of Lo De Marcos, Mexico and her two sons Rob (Lorraine) of Langdon and Brian (Michele) of Edmonton; six grandchildren, Sean (Wendy) Shea, Cory (Misha) Shea, Kelly (Elana) Shea, Kevin (Lauren) Shea, Jennifer (Kent) Taylor , and Shannon Brush (Jon LaFournie); fifteen great grandchildren Angel, Brian and Christine Shea, Lyniah and Mikaelah Shea, Tristan and Sawyer Shea, Jamieson and Violet Shea, Hayden, Cooper and Ellaina Brush, Bentleigh, Lucy and Halle Taylor and two great-great grandchildren, Derek and Isabella Shea and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley and Dan lived most of their lives in Three Hills where they owned and operated a family business. Shirley was a born salesperson and loved people. They also enjoyed camping weekends out at their holiday trailer near Caroline. They moved to Langdon in 2013 to live with Rob and Lorraine. Two years after Dan passed away Shirley moved to the Golden Hills Lodge in Three Hills and has resided there for the last 4 years.
Shirley was active in the community and donated hour upon hour to Kinettes, IODE, Stars, United Church, curling club and put endless volunteer hours into the Alberta Sr. Summer games held in Three Hills. She was always there to lend a hand. She served on the Three Hills Hospital Board and was the Census co-ordinator and the Returning officer for the constituency for several years.
Shirley was an avid curler and even laid an eight ender while curling with her Mother. For someone so small, she could also hit a pretty good lefthanded golf club. She loved Christmas, cats, cross stitch, crafts, entertaining and cooking which she was very good at. Anyone who was ever on the receiving end of her famous homemade candy would agree. She could magically make a delicious dinner appear without every leaving the couch.
She was known for her friendly manor, sense of humor and the quick smile that lit up her face. Shirley loved her family almost as much as she loved her cat Max. Shirley always gave one hundred percent to whatever she did. She and Dan had many friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. We will miss our Mom, Nan and Great Nan and were blessed to have her as long as we did.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Golden Hills Lodge in Three Hills, Alberta.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Shirley Jean Shea 2021..
