Sebastiano D’Amico
On Friday, July 30th, 2021, Sebastiano D’Amico passed away suddenly at the age of 85.
Born in Pachino, Sicily on September 19th, 1935, Sebastiano was the beloved husband of
Paola for 64 blessed years and the dear father of Maria (Osvaldo), Salvatore (Dawna), and
Milena (Carmine).
He will be forever cherished and remembered by his grandchildren Joseph (Kimberly), Vito
(Gloria), Olivia, Rebecca, Evelyn and Lauren and great-grandchildren Chloe and Jennifer.
At the age of 19, Sebastiano immigrated to Canada from Sicily with his father Salvatore in
search of a better life. He immediately began a career in construction that allowed him to
provide for his ever-growing family.
Sebastiano was a quiet, humble and generous man with a wonderful sense of humour. He was
always ready to lend a helping hand and was happiest when surrounded by his family and
friends.
He enjoyed many things, however, music and singing were his true passions. He filled his
days serenading the ones he loved with classic Italian songs and reminiscing with his family
about memories of Italy that filled his heart with joy. He will be dearly missed by those who
knew him and forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be a part of
his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sebastiano’s honour may be made to the non-profit charitable
organization Hope for Dementia.
