Sarah Ellen Wentzell
1982-2021
It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing
of Sarah Ellen Wentzell, age 38, on August 10, 2021. Born August 18,
1982, she was the daughter of Gary and Marilyn Wentzell, Blockhouse;
younger sister to Anna Bellows (Wentzell) and aunt to Gabriel Bellows,
both of Blockhouse. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Everett
Silver and Chester Wentzell; grandmother, Bertha Zwicker and uncle,
Vernon Silver. Sarah will be missed by her long-time companion, Jesse
Troyer, who she lived with in Bridgewater, her 100-year-old
grandmother, Audrey Silver as well as a large family of aunts, uncles
and cousins. Though her life was cut short, her family and friends
will always remember the good times, her laughter, her sense of
humour, and her kind heart.
Sarah was a creative, artistic person with a diploma in graphic
design, who loved to paint and create abstract art. Later she earned
a certificate as a make-up artist fulfilling her childhood dream. Her
happy place was the beach, she absolutely loved to swim, and would get
in the water no matter how cold it was! The Big Ex in Bridgewater was
something she looked forward to every year and she always got a
bracelet and went on the rides all day long. Family get-togethers on
occasions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas were treasured and Sarah
enjoyed the tradition of playing games such as Balderdash and Jenga as
she was extremely competitive! She adored animals, including her cat,
Sammy. Watching movies and TV shows was another one of her favorite
things to do, and she was always going to the local library to borrow
something new to watch. Likely she watched everything they had
multiple times! Her favorite go-to show was Glee, it was a feel-good
show that just made her happy. Over the years Sarah endured a lot of
struggles, but she was strong and she fought hard right until the end.
Our family finds solace in the fact that she is no longer in any pain
and that her beautiful soul is finally at peace. She will be greatly
missed.
There will be a small gathering with immediate family and close
friends at the Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. The family would
like to thank you for your outpouring of love and support and if you
would like, please send any donations in her memory to the Bridgewater
Inter-Church Food Bank, SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or Souls Harbour
Rescue Mission, Bridgewater.
