PARISE, Salvatore –
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father Salvatore on Thursday, November 25, 2021. He died peacefully at Humber River Hospital at the age of 88.
Salvatore is now reunited with his loving wife Laura, daughter Teresa and son Franco. He is survived by his children Maria, Luciano (Julie) and Sonia (Wayne) and grandchildren Giacomo, Serena, Lauren, Sophia and Sammy.
Salvatore grew up in Aprigliano Cosenza, Calabria, but in 1959 he moved to Canada to start a new life. It is where he married Laura and where he raised his family. He held on to his Italian traditions, but he also embraced the Canadian culture.
Salvatore worked in downtown Toronto to provide for his growing family. He was a generous and social man with a great sense of humour. Salvatore’s faith was also very important to him. Over the years, he became a very active member of the St. Andrew’s Parish community. He cherished the friendships he made there and they became a big part of his life.
Salvatore had many loves. He loved his sweets. He loved his garden. He loved to go for walks. He loved to dance. He loved to travel. He loved bingo nights at his seniors club. Most of all, Salvatore loved his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren especially at birthdays and holiday celebrations. They were always spent around a large table with lots of food and lots of love.
Salvatore built a beautiful life for himself in Canada and he lived it to the very fullest.
He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Resting at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue (North of Rexdale Boulevard) on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 2-6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s Church, 2547 Kipling Avenue, on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery.
