Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ruth Elaine (Bennett) O’Donnell which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, September 27th, 2021. Born 1940, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Jean Bennett.
Ruth loved crocheting, reading and listening to gospel music. She had a heart of gold. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her loving and devoted husband Paul of 61 years; son Rick O’Donnell of Saint John; daughters Susan O’Donnell of Saint John, Cheryl O’Donnell of Saint John; brothers Eric Bennett (Wendy) of BC, Ricky Bennett (Bonnie) of BC, Lawrence Bennett (Claire) of Nova Scotia and Raymond Bennett (Connie) of Titusville; cherished granddaughter Serena May O’Donnell of Hampton; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her sister Wanda (Charles), brother Danny and grandson Paul.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, September 30th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Friday, October 1st at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at St. Martins Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
