Rudolf Bracic
July 3, 1939 – June 29, 2021
Our family is broken as we share the news of the sudden passing of Rudolf (Rudy) Bracic. He was a wonderful husband to Sofia (Kordic) Bracic for over 56 years, father to Senka Plese (Joseph, passed April 13, 2014), Lily Bracic-Ronalds (Jim), Mariana Bracic, Miroslav Bracic (Cheri). He loved his grandchildren and always spoke fondly of the fulfillment they provided to him. His grandchildren, Matthew, Stephanie, Thomas, Megan, Benjamin, Holland, William, Lucas, Ava, Garrett, Carson, and Annelise will forever miss the love and joy he provided for them.
Rudy was born in Croatia and moved his family to Canada in 1974, to provide a better life and more opportunities. Rudy loved working on his cars and his Mac truck. He could fix anything and loved every chance to help out the family on projects. Rudy got great pleasure from visiting with wonderful friends in Croatia and in Canada. He thoroughly enjoyed the grandkids visiting him and his arms were wide open every time family and friends would visit.
His greatest pride was his family and his 80th birthday celebration was his happy place. All 21 of his children and grandchildren in the same house was his dream weekend and we made memories that will last forever. He was always by his wife’s side and she was his best friend. They were inseparable. He would go to great lengths to ensure her comfort and protection.
He loved a good debate and he loved to teach us in parables. His faith kept him grounded and he was ready to celebrate any religious family events in the grandest of style. He worked hard and engrained that into each of his children and grandchildren. His tough approach to upbringing was carried onto the next generation even though we did not realize it’s value when we were young.
He is described by many who knew him as iconic, warm, loving, inviting and welcoming. His love of Skyping will remain legendary. He will be missed by so many! The support we have received from our family and friends has been a comfort to each one of us.
