Obituary
Peacefully surrounded by her family at Haliburton Hospital on Saturday afternoon, June 5, 2021 in her 79th year. Beloved wife and soul mate of David MacGowan for over 59 years. Loving mother of Neil (Cathy) and Carolyn (Tony). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Makayla, Madeline, Brianna, Anthony, Hayley and Nolan. Dear sister of Stan, Nina, Don, Wally, Winnie, Wayne and Glenn. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Ruby worked as at Toronto East General Hospital as a Registered Nurse for several years. She also taught Nursing Assistants at Scarborough General Hospital and worked as an Industrial Nurse at Eaton’s. She enjoyed volunteering with the Victorian Order of Nurses, Saint Elizabeth Nurses, playing bridge and cooking for her family and friends. Ruby was a faithful participant in supporting her children and great grandchildren endeavours. Ruby enjoyed life and everyone enjoyed her – she was the rock and the glue that held everyone together.
Celebration Of Life
A Celebration Of Life will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Haliburton Hospital Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.
