After a fulfilling life dedicated to his family, Roy passed away on December 23, 2021 at the age of 57.
Loving husband of Louise for 35 years. Proud father of Kelsey, Matthew, and Jenna. Loving brother of Ross (Janice). Predeceased by his parents, Joanne and Ken, and his sister, Liza. He will also be missed by extended family (Vorstenbosch, Henry, Huibers) and friends.
Roy worked in the automotive tooling industry for 39 years. He was an active member of his community through coaching and refereeing. He loved to run long distance with his LaSalle Running Group. In his short life, he was able to explore the world, climb Mount Fuji, snowboard in Colorado and Vermont, and complete several marathons.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roy may be made to the Hospice of Windsor and Es County.
Reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend the visitation on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 3 -5 and 7-9 p.m. at Families First Funeral Home (3260 Dougall Ave.) Reservations may be made online at www.familiesfirst.ca (RSVP) or by phone (519-969-5841). A private funeral mass will be held and a recording of that service will be posted for viewing on Thursday December 30, 2021. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
