Obituary of Ross Caputo
It is with broken hearts we announce the end of Ross’ long difficult struggle at Mount Sinai and Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, February 10th at 4:22 a.m. at the age of 70. He was surrounded by and held warmly by his beloved wife Maria (Curcione) and his loving sisters Fortunata Diamantini (Giuliano), Enza Caputo, Pina Caputo, and Eva Aceti (Peter). Loved son of the late Guerino Caputo (Ermelinda) and the late Rosina Caputo. Beloved son-in-law of the late Giuseppe and late Rosa Curcione. Loving uncle to Melisa Diamantini, late Marlene Diamantini, Luke and Lindsay Aceti.
Ross was a long-time employee at the LCBO. A thought for Ross from a special friend: “He was such a wonderful man who was very special to us all! He will always be remembered and forever in our hearts. His jokes, tricks, love of browsing the tool department and laughter will always be wonderful memories of my childhood. I loved him very much and wish him, rest in peace and eternal life with our Lord.”
Ross was a gentle soul and a fine man. Heaven has gained a gentleman. He loved plants, poetry, quotes, and animals. He was as intelligent as the Encyclopedia Britannica, always knowing and retaining so many facts and entertaining his family and friends with them. He loved our Yorkie Rosie (she will go with him to walk in Heaven and be together again) and our Biewer Yorkie Macy, who misses him so much.
Ross, moments together are never forgotten…They are forever remembered in my heart. You are the love of my life and always in my heart, soul, and mind. Thank you for 33 years of joys, adventures, sorrows, meals, and love. -Maria “Bye Love!”
A private funeral will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758). Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to The Lung Health Foundation or to the S.S.M Humane Society. Thank you to all the kind and thoughtful Doctors and nurses on 3B and in the ICU at the Sault Area Hospital, you made life more bearable for Ross.
This is a favourite saying from Ross’s collection of many.
Learning to Say Goodbye.
Just about the most terrible thing that can happen to a person is the loss of a loved one. Most people feel as if the world has come to an end, as if their own life is over. This is a normal and natural way to feel – but it is not the truth. The truth is that you will feel a terrible sadness for a long, long time. You will feel frightened and angry-but after many, many months, these feelings will become less painful and occur less often. You will find yourself picking up the thread of your life, even looking towards the future with hope and pleasure. Good things will happen once again. -Author Unknown

  1. It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the loss of a true gentleman in Ross. He always had a smile on his face and his gentle disposition just lent itself to making people feel good. My thoughts and prayers go out to Maria and his family. Blessings. Gino-Krista-Brandon and Drew Caputo
