Obituary of Ross Wallace Killins
Killins UE, Ross Wallace: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ross Killins, in his 93rd year, on Saturday December 4th. Ross lived his entire life on the family farm in Caistor Township, where both he and his father were born. Survived by his loving wife Thelma Miner, daughters Barbara Maystruk (Dan), Maxine Martin (Mark), Linda Young (Michael) and Glenna Marriage (Mike), stepchildren Debi Phillips, Sheila Phillips (John), Ralph Miner, Brenda Mead (Doug), Nancy Bouwers (Ed), and Cindy Langeraap (Jantzi). He will also be fondly remembered by 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wives Doris (Walton) Fawcett and Glenna (Dilts) Phillips and siblings Clifford Killins (Lila) and Floyd Killins (Mary), and Fay Merritt (Murray). Ross was a retired dairy farmer who loved his land. He was also a well-respected long term employee of Merritt Funeral Home. Ross was an active member of the community serving on various committees and boards over the years, including Merritt’s United Church, Caistor School board and Abingdon Hall Board. A dedicated family man, with a quiet charm, respected and loved by all who knew him. A private family service will be held. If desired, memorial contributions to Merritt’s United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the funeral home.
