DEWITT, Rose – Born February 29, 1940 and passed away peacefully, with her family at her bedside, at the Woolcott Wing of the Welland Hospital on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in her 81st year. Loving mother of Beverly Gearhart (Bill), Donna Jacobsen (Brian) and Susan Dewitt (Martin) all of Welland. Loving sister of June Hewitt of Peterborough. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren, Gerry, Cari, Tyler, Randy, Dayna, Eric, Anthony, Nicky and Taylor
and 13 great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and her cat “Socks”. Predeceased by her husband Floyd (2009), son Daniel (2019) and son Donald (2021). Rose was a stay at home housewife and mother to 5 children. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, reading and playing her games on the computer. Rose loved relaxing with her cats, while watching her favourite television shows, especially watching her Toronto Maple Leafs or Blue Jays play. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Saturday, November 27th from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private family service will be conducted by Pastor Dave Tunikaiti at 1 p.m. To view the service, please go to the Facebook page HL Cudney Funeral Home Inc. on Saturday at 12:55 p.m. Special thanks to the exemplary care from the Nurses and Staff from the 6th floor and Woolcott Wing of the Welland Hospital for the care and compassion given to Rose.
