Obituary
McFarland, Ronald John (Ron/Ronnie) March 10, 1956 – April 21, 2021
After fighting to live life to the fullest, Ron could no longer stay in the game. Team ALS threw him a curve ball and took his life in extra innings. Cheering him on all the way was his manager and love of his life Nancy (nee Gall) and his daughter Emily (Daniel) who was always in sync. On the bench was Ron’s sister Sharon (Cliff) and in laws Jane (Gary), Molly (Dave) and Charley (Lynda). In the outfield were many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and loyal friends always there to cheer him on. Ron is predeceased by his parents Bruce and Barbara (nee Hill) McFarland and his in laws Fred and Fran (nee Hunter) Gall. As the years went by various team members came into Ron’s life through broadcasting work, theatre for fun and his love of baseball. Many of them would say Ron was in a league of his own. We hope he is now a member of team heaven, where he is swinging to the fences in a whole new game. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held when it will be safe to gather and give hugs. In memory of Ron, donations would be welcomed to Peterborough Regional Health Centre palliative team. Online condolences may be expressed at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
