Ronald David Garrett Sunday July 11th 2021

Ronald David Garrett was born in Oshawa, Ontario to Garnet and Ada (Philips) Garrett. He was the third of four children and the apple of his mother’s eye.
To his parents’ consternation, Dave developed a love of music, especially for the drums. He played in numerous bands, beginning with the Home Guard, the Oshawa Symphony Orchestra, even performing at Camp X.
Dave worked for General Motors, starting on the kids’ line until his retirement after 38.8 years.
In 1961, Dave met his wife Betty (Marie) and after a lengthy engagement, the two wed in 1968 and remained together for 53 years.
Dave is survived by his wife Betty, his two children Chantell (Earl) and Jamie (Jenny) and his three grandchildren Connor, Dylan and Madison.
Dave enjoyed photography, big band music, gardening, following the stock market and watching NASCAR. Twenty years of camping passed sitting beside the camp fire with his ‘gad’, family and numerous friends. Dave enjoyed nothing more than a great story, especially if it involved a few ‘colourful’ words.
No service will be held as per Dave’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Dave’s family are especially grateful to Dr. Kassirer whose bedside manner whilst administering MAiD helped ease his passing.
