Roger Marrec
A life well lived
July 8, 1925 – July 15, 2021
Passed away peacefully at 96 years old. Roger leaves his soulmate and wife of 48 years Pauline (nee Guarnaccio). He is also survived by his many adoring nieces and nephews, cousins, many cherished grand nieces and nephews, and wonderful longtime friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Edouard and Isabelle and his twin siblings Marie-Therese and Edouard.
Roger lived a very interesting and productive life. He was born in the village of Cosquer, Brittany, France and immigrated to Canada as a young man. He received his education from Fordham University, New York, Lumen Vitae, Belgium, and Wilfred Laurier University.
All of his working life was devoted to caring for the needs of others. Most recently he worked at the Catholic Children’s Aid, Dufferin Peel Separate School Board and was a School Trustee for the French School Board.
Roger’s zest for life, sense of humour, generous spirit and love of adventure was contagious and an inspiration to all who knew him. He loved his family and was a loyal supporter and proud booster of their many accomplishments. He believed in the inherent goodness of all people. Roger and Pauline shared a love of travel and of Northern Canada.
A special thanks to the kind and helpful team of caregivers at Eldercare Home Health and Baycrest Long-term Care. You made his life easier.
