Robert Leonard Roberts (Len) passed away unexpectedly on November 04, 2019 in Vancouver, Canada at the age of 72. He is survived by his sister Rebecca Hancock (Randy), their children, and many loving friends.
Len was born in Savannah Georgia, USA, on February 17, 1947. He moved to Canada in the 1970s and decided to make Vancouver his home. He then became a Canadian citizen.
He enjoyed going to auctions, and began collecting antique furniture and paintings. He was drawn to the Pre-Raphaelites in particular, and the artist Arthur Hughes. Len researched and wrote ‘Arthur Hughes: His Life and Works’, a catalogue raisonné published in London, 1997.
He developed a passion for Antiquarian books, and became an expert in the field. He had a thriving business collecting and selling 19th century books by English writers, illustrators and painters.
Len also worked in the Vancouver film industry for many years.
