Obituary
With sadness the family of Robert Harvey Hatt announce his passing which occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Robert was born on November 6, 1936 in Cambridge Narrows, NB to the late Avery and Jennie (Todd) Hatt.
Robert worked for many years at the Saint John Dry Dock as a welder.
He was a social, yet gentle man who could always be found helping those in need.
An avid skater and bowler, Robert also enjoyed spending time outdoors watching the birds, growing tomatoes and cucumbers, and making sure that his neighbors lawnmower blades were always sharp and never dull.
Robert is survived by his children Kenneth Hatt, Tim Hatt (Debbie), Heather Duffley (Robert) and Christina Long (Gary); grandchildren Christopher, Amelia, Breanne, Luke, Kevin, Leah, Erica, Colby, James and Jared; great grandchildren Carter, Charlie, Kandace, Kacy, Toby, Elliott and Willow.
He is also remembered by his sisters in-law; Betty and Frances Hatt.
In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Margaret along with his sister Carrie Walker (the late Raymond); brothers David, Richard and Arthur (the late Lillian).
Our family would like to offer a special acknowledgement and thank you to Dad’s neighbor Lucien Doucette who was always there for him over the years.
Robert will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Sunday, September 26th between the hours of 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Chapel on Monday, September 27th at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Narrows Baptist Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings, all those 12 and older attending visitation and service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government issued ID.
