Sewell: Richard D’Arcy (Major Retired)
A resident of Chatham, Richard Sewell passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Chatham on November 30, 2021 at the age of 71. Born in Chatham, Richard was the son of the late David and Bessie (Edmondson) Sewell. Beloved husband of 49 years to Donna (nee Kirkman). Dear father to Ryan and Nicole Sewell and Megan Sewell. Proud Papa to Meredith, Paige and Charlotte. Brother-in-law to Beverley and Larry Kyte. Dear friend of many years to Judy Waggott and her late husband Jack, and Cris and Beth Van Hal. Richard will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers William (Bud) Sewell, John (Jack) and Marlene Sewell.Richard will be forever remembered by his family and friends for his many years of service with the Air Cadets of Chatham 294 Sqn. and the Canadian Armed Forces. He was an avid Outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, being out in Nature and working within his Community. In keeping with Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Donations made in memory of Richard can be made to the Thames Valley Conservation Authority or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
