GAGNON, Rémi Joseph Eugène

Rémi, the love of my life, my best friend, passed away in my arms at Eastholme, Powassan, on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. To know him was to love him, and we did! He was in his 80th year. Rémi was the beloved husband of Suzanne “Sue” (Poirier) of Powassan. He was the much-loved father of Nicole (Tom Lang) of Trout Creek, Lise (Steve Edwards) of Astorville, Daniel (Nicky) of Chisholm, Renée (Billy) of North Bay and Dominic of Ottawa; and cherished grand-papa of Alexandria, D’Arcy, Alyssa, Joelle, Olivia and Nicholas. Rémi was the dear brother of Fr. Roch Gagnon of North Bay, Simon Gagnon (Priscilla) of North Bay, Jean-Pierre Gagnon (Pat) of Ottawa, Lucile Forrest of Port Hope and Huguette Bedwell (Lance) of Powassan. He was predeceased by his siblings Colette Leveille (the late Jean-Marie), Roger Gagnon (the late Joyce), Monique Nadon (the late Alfred), Claude Gagnon (Judy of Powassan), Gaston Gagnon (the late Molly), Gilles Gagnon and infants Bernard and Yves Gagnon. Rémi and Sue were the well-known founders and longtime owners of Clear Springs Golf Course in Chisholm Township. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will take place at Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 am. The service will be available via ZOOM (link and instructions below). A public celebration of Rémi’s life will be announced at a later date.
