Our beloved Murray passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria, and children Jennifer (Ed) and Heath (Maria), grandchildren Mitch and Anastasia, brother Ivan (Muriel) and family, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Shirley.
Murray was born in Silver Park, SK and grew up in nearby Kelvington. Following high school, he sought out work in the Artic and then ventured east, where he drove an ambulance in metro Toronto. He went on to attain his funeral director’s licence and also a 2nd class Power Engineer’s certificate, before concluding his work life in the public service in Edmonton.
Murray volunteered his time with the cadets and community organizations and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. Murray loved working with his hands especially at the cottage near Athabasca, where he and his family shared many happy times over the years.
Murray also loved to ride his motorcycles and after retirement, he and Gloria enjoyed going on cruises and vacationing in Mexico.
We will forever miss Murray’s beautiful smile and his loving and generous nature.
Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering is planned.
