Obituary of Ralph Bennett Hewins
Peacefully, at Hamilton General Hospital on December 25, 2021 in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his first wife, Flora (Morton) in 1991 and will be missed by his loving wife Dorothy (Davis-Boden). Dear father of Richard, Betty and her husband John Ricottone, Gary and his wife Pam, stepfather of Susan, Debbie, Carol and Rick. Proud grandfather of Angie (Chris Naftel), Christine (Mark Ecker), Charlie Ricottone (Melissa), Nicole Ricottone (Anthony DeArcangelis), Meghan (Josh White) and Jodi. Great-grandfather of Michael, Marissa, Hudson, Magnum, Isabella, Sofia, Bodhi, Sienna, Hunter, Everleigh, Julianna and Myles. He is predeceased by his parents Thomas Richard and Edna May (Sayers). Ralph was the sole proprietor of Hewins White Rose gas station before he entered the teaching profession where he was employed by the Hamilton Board until his retirement. His favourite place to be was at the cottage on Greenbough Lake where many memories were made with his family and the many cottagers on the lake. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. Proof of vaccination will be required to attend. Private interment at Hamilton Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
