1938-2021
Ralph Collins Houghton – age 83,
passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 in the Soldiers Memorial
Hospital, Middleton. Born in West Glenmont, he was a son of the late
Augusta Houghton. Prior to retirement, Ralph worked as a Mail
Contractor and in Sales for McCains and Good Year Tire. He was an
adherent member of the Billtown Baptist
Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Twana (Bruce)
Rafuse, Welsford; Cheryl (Dale) Joyce, Grande Prairie; six
grandchildren, Sarah (Ken) Chandler, Corey (Whitney) Rafuse, Laurie
(Kory) Gravengard, Collin Joyce, Mandy (Justen) Page and Robert
Houghton; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, David and Steven
Misner; nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his
mother, he was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Ester (Haggerty)
Houghton, in May 2021; and son, Mitchell Houghton
(2016).
Cremation has taken place and there will be no
visitation, by request. A private family funeral service will be held
at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Safe Haven
Animal Rescue, any other animal rescue organization or the Northville
Farm Heritage Centre. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
