Robert Wayne Miner passed away at home, with his family by his side, after a lengthy battle with cancer on Monday, March 8th, 2021. Age 80 years.
Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret (Salt) for 56 years. Loving father of Debra Sayewich and her husband Dan; Robert ‘Butch’ Miner; Deanna Clouthier and her husband Eugene; Brian Miner and his wife Christina; and Darlene Miner. Cherished Grandfather of Addison, Nicole, Jennie, Shane, Morgan, Trenton, Kyle, Talitha, Devan, and great grandfather of 11. Dear brother of Garry Miner (late wife Simonne) of Ottawa, and Dennis Miner and his wife Maureen of Parry Sound. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and his many friends.
Born and raised in Parry Sound, Wayne lived a very full life. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, businessman, an avid curler, and a well-known member of his community. Wayne enjoyed travelling and especially cherished his winters with Marg in Panama City Beach, Florida, where they had the pleasure to meet fellow snowbirds. Anyone who met Wayne knew he loved to talk and spend time with his many friends and coffee club buddies. Wayne found his “Happy Place” as a long time and dedicated employee of the Parry Sound Golf & Country Club for 25 years. He thoroughly enjoyed every day spent at the club.
Thank you to Dr. Honsinger and Dr. Davis for their care and dedication. A very special ‘Thank you’ to Care Partner Joanne for her kindness and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Wayne’s life will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the West Parry Sound Health Centre, or the Royal Victoria Hospital Cancer Centre, Barrie would be appreciated.

Death notice for the town of: Parry-Sound, Province: Ontario
So very sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. My condolences go out to his entire family, especially to Marg and Dennis. I will always remember bonspiels at the curling club when Wayne and Marg were curling. Going out to the Voyageur for a bowl of chili after a late game at those Bonspiels is a memory I will always cherish.
