Portage – It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our loving father, Gerard (Adèle) Cormier.
Born in Cap-Pelé, NB, he was the son of the late Alphée and the late Adèle (LeBlanc) Cormier.
He was a retired electrician, having supervised on many big projects, including the Moncton Hospital, where he had the best of care. A big Thank you to all the nurses. He was one of the first volunteer and was involved in having the ambulance service in Cap-Pelé. He was also the president twice with the Lion’s Club and received his pin for 25 years of service with the legion, where he was involved in many projects, one he was very proud of, was the monument for the veterans in Parc Tidiche in the village of Cap-Pelé. He loved telling stories and knew all the family tree of most of the Cap-Pelé families. He enjoyed his weekly family gatherings and spending time with us all.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley (Riche) Cormier in 2020; he will be sadly missed by his daughters: Helen (Ross Rowsell), Janet (Léo Richard) and Carol (Maurice Brun); his sons: Michael and Gerard Jr. and also his two great granddaughters: Cassandra Weisshunn and Mia Cormier.
