We regret to announce the passing of our dear brother, father, uncle and friend, Percy Gear, 67, of Margaree, on Friday, June 4, 2021, at home, surrounded by his family, after a very courageous battle with cancer.
Percy was the son of the late John and Ella Grace (Tremblett) Gear of Florence. He came back to his roots 11 years ago, retiring after working 35 years for the city of Calgary.
He is survived by his sons Ryan and Randy Gear, Ontario, sisters Marilyn (Richard) Loclan, Calgary, Doris, Florence, and Shirley (Norbert) Murphy, Margaree, brother Doug (Teresa), Calgary, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Percy was predeceased by his brother Johnnie.
Special thanks to his nephew Justin and his wife Cheryl Clarkson, whom he depended on for their kindness, caring, and doing for Percy the last 11 years. Special thanks also to the Palliative Care, Dr. Ritter, and nurses Kathy and Paulette for your kindness and compassionate care over the last few months.
At Percy’s request, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Centre or to Palliative Care. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
