Obituary of Paul Douglas Bradley
PAUL DOUGLAS BRADLEY
January 31,1945 to December 23, 2021
The curtain is forever lowered as this loving, funny, clever, creative man made his final exit. Paul Douglas Bradley, deeply loved husband and soulmate of Kathleen for 48 years and proud father of Matthew, took his last bow. Applauding his colourful life are his sisters Kathryn Hazlewood (Pam and Deb) and Lynn Hutchinson (Charlotte and Paras, Aaron and Kenzie). Paul’s debut at birth was celebrated by his parents Aileen Downs and Harold Bradley, now deceased.
Typecast throughout his life as a multi-faceted, multi-talented man of The Arts, he began with a gift for music at an early age, playing piano by ear, touring across Europe playing clarinet in the Saltfleet High School Band, and contributing to musical culture in the prestigious RHLI Band. Paul then broadened his repertoire by becoming a staunch supporter of the visual arts— even trying his own hand at oils and acrylics— as well as becoming a serious theatre-buff. In stark contrast, Paul played against his typecasting by working in Accounting at E.D. Smith followed a second career at Aapex Driving Academy where he discovered his natural ability for classroom teaching. His wide range of repertoire could also include a friendly round of golf with his buddies, Jim and Joe, or a fondness he developed for reading and writing which led to his eventual return to school where he achieved a BA in English at McMaster University. He loved to dream and challenged his creative spirit to play a starring role in the next big idea. He enjoyed a good time and honed his performance skills by regaling friends with his extraordinary story-telling ability. Paul played a key role as founding member and President of Lifelong Learning Niagara, once again contributing his many talents to answering a local need for knowledge and establishing a successful forum for third-age learning. He was happiest, though, in his newly renovated kitchen or at his new barbecue, pleasing hungry guests with the latest variation of a gourmet recipe, or just sitting comfortably by a roaring fire with a good book and a glass of wine. Yes, for Paul all the world was indeed a stage where he did strut and fret his memorable hour. The curtain has dropped but between his entrance and his exit Paul will be remembered as a man with a quick wit, a big heart and deep compassion for others.
On Paul’s behalf, his family asks that you celebrate his love of The Arts by attending a concert, enjoying a theatre performance, or strolling through a gallery or museum. A time to reflect on Paul’s life will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 6-8 p.m.
In accordance with the Covid-19 regulations, proof of vaccination and ID is required for all guests attending the visitation. Masks are required upon entry.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Paul
