HARNDEN, Paul Sydney
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Paul Sydney Harnden on August 9 at the Palliative Care Unit of PRHC in his 73rd year. Paul, beloved husband and best friend of Patty (McPhie) for almost 51 years; cherished father of Tara (Allan Desveaux) of Peterborough, Geoff (Courtney McMullen) of Calgary and Katie Harnden of Calgary; dearest Papa to James Desveaux. Pre-deceased by his devoted parents Gerald and Joyce Harnden of Peterborough. Paul was a very proud member of the Peterborough Police Service for thirty years in the Identification Branch, primarily working in the area of forensics. Paul’s family wishes to express profound gratitude for the health care professionals at PRHC who guided us through this very difficult journey and exemplified wisdom, compassion and personal commitment to Paul’s comfort and dignity. Friends and family will be received at the Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 12 until 2 p.m. COVID 19 restrictions are in place and face coverings are mandatory. The funeral will be celebrated by the family privately. In memory of Paul and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospital for Sick Children or Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated.
