It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, wife and friend, Pat Lahey (Ward) on June 18th. She was pre deceased by her much loved parents Mary and Arthur Ward and sister, Geraldine. She will be greatly missed by her childhood sweetheart and husband Harold (Ted) Lahey, daughter Stephanie, son Jason (Mona), brother, Jimmy (Mary) and many friends and extended family.
Pat grew up in Dartmouth, loved to spend time paddling at Mic Mac boat club and later, summers with her parents at their cottage in PEI, which she continued to do throughout her life. She worked for many years at Federal Offshore, she was such a valuable part of their organization, that when she decided to stay home with their second child, they offered her whatever she wanted so they wouldn’t lose her. She was invaluable there, just as she was with so many of her friends and family. She was so interested and interesting. She always remembered details of a conversation, and would follow up to see how things were going. She had so many great stories and always passed along the best advice ever!!
Her eye for detail was second to none, clearly highlighted throughout the many homes she and Ted built together. She was beautiful inside and out, very friendly, kind and outgoing, with a great sense of humor and shining smile. She and Ted loved to travel, spent many years going to the Dominican Republic where they made many long lasting friendships. They loved Europe and enjoyed spending time there when their daughter was there studying.
The family would like to graciously thank the team of nurses and staff at Halifax Hospice for taking such amazing care of Pat. She loved and appreciated you all. There will be a celebration of Pat’s life to be announced at a later date.
