It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Oliver “Ollie” Gordon Read. Son of the late Oliver (nee Horton) and Gordon Read. Survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia (nee Armstrong) Read, son Michael (Amy) of North Carolina and daughter Cheryl of London, two granddaughters Hadyn Read and Alden Hestikind of North Carolina. Predeceased by daughter Karen Read. Survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joan Williams, Margaret Russcher, Maurie Malott, Calvin Williams and Nelson and Marion Williams. Remembered by a special aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Predeceased by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Lila and Len Hatt, Doris and Harvey Raludeau, Eileen and Ken Butcher, Lloyd Williams, John Russcher, Len Malott, Brenda Williams, Earl “Sonny” Armstrong, Elizabeth Johnston, Stan Nichols and Williama Nichols.
Oliver worked for Stan Furniture and Harold North Trucking.
Visitation will be December 6, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 at McKinlay Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. Pre-registration is required to attend the visitation. Please register below. A private funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Paul McPhail with interment to follow at Arnold cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
