Nelson passed away peacefully at Langley Memorial Hospital on September 7, 2021
Nelson was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After graduating from United College, Winnipeg and St. Andrew’s College, Saskatoon he was ordained as a minister for the United Church of Canada. He served congregations in Northern Manitoba, Winnipeg, Prince George, BC, and Sundre, Alberta.
He is remembered with much love by his wife, Betty, son Bruce, daughters Coleen, her partner Wayne, Laurette, son-in-law Sean, grandsons Darby and Ciaran, brother Gordon, sister-in-law Freda and many nieces and nephews.
Retiring to Harrison Hot Springs in 2002 Nelson enjoyed working with recycled materials to create crafts, art works and a green house. He was active in Agassiz United Church and valued all the friendships and community there. He had a great sense of humour, quick wit and enjoyed lively discussion.
A celebration of life service will be held at Agassiz United Church 6860 Hwy. #7, Agassiz on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 3:00 pm.
