With profound sadness we announce the death of Nancy Anne Flaman on September 21, 2021, after enduring a year with brain cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband, Henry; four children: Ana (Rodney), Zach (Chantal), Simon, and Mariya; and six grandchildren. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.
Nancy and her four siblings were born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, by her parents Morley and Mari Dean. She met and pursued Henry at the University of Regina, and they moved to Saskatoon so Henry could attend medical school. After living in sin for a year, they made it official, and married. Henry entered the military in 1976; this began a series of postings that brought their expanding family across Canada, to Germany, and back to Canada again, finally settling in St. Albert. With each move, Nancy created a warm, stable home, and made lifelong friends. She was an empathetic listener, was kind, and was caring. She would drop everything at a moment’s notice to help others. She was energetic and meticulous in all her pursuits, whether she was creating stained glass pieces, repainting the house, sewing prom dresses, or caulking the bathroom tub. Nancy was an unstoppable force when in the midst of a project! An artist in her own right, she always encouraged her children to pursue their own hobbies and ambitions.
Nancy was a fiercely proud mother, mother-in-law, and Gramma. She and Henry arranged each year around visits to family and friends. We will miss her unwavering support, lengthy phone calls, and easy infectious laugh. She was the glue and the anchor, and her presence will be greatly missed. Though she may be gone, her love and spirit will live on.
A small ceremony will be held September 27th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Albert
Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert. It will also be live-streamed for those who cannot join us.
In addition, a celebration of life will be held in May 2022 when she will be laid to rest at the Melville Municipal Cemetery, joining her mother and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Must be vaccinated to attend the service.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Nancy Anne Flaman 2021..
