Obituary
Myron Leonard Didur aged 74 years passed away peacefully in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 16th, 2021.
Myron was born at Dauphin Manitoba, on Nov 18th, 1946. Myron was raised on the family farm in Ethelbert Manitoba, and was the product of a hard working farming family. Myron as a young man later moved to Levack, Ontario to work for INCO. Myron settled in Levack, Ontario where he worked for INCO at Levack Mine for 33 years. In Levack, Myron met his former wife Carole Charbonneau and they had their son Edward Myron Didur. Myron lived and worked in Levack for many years, enjoying hunting and fishing with family and friends. Myron enjoyed the outdoors, having some beers with friends and sharing some laughs on the lake and around the campfire. Myron was a dancer, when a polka started playing, Myron was often the first one up on the dance floor dancing with the ladies as he loved his polka and he did it with style. Myron enjoyed the Ukrainian culture and often went to the Ukrainian Catholic church when he lived in Dauphin, one of his favorite activities was the Ukrainian festival in Dauphin every summer. Myron later after retirement from INCO, moved back to Dauphin, Manitoba and settled there for many years working as a janitor in the schools, and attending the Dauphin Kings hockey games which he enjoyed. Since 2018, Myron moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba to live with brothers Steven Didur and Paul Didur until his passing on May 16th, 2021. Myron enjoyed life for what it had to offer, but often was set in his ways and that is just who he was. He will be missed, a man who had a passion for life, and cared for family.
Myron is pre-deceased by his father Paul Didur and mother Anne Stratuliak. Myron is survived by his son Edward Myron Didur, of Sudbury Ontario, and by his granddaughter Nadia Carole Didur, also of Sudbury. Myron is also survived by his two brothers Steven Didur and Paul Didur both from Winnipeg, Manitoba, his sister Nadia Grace Didur of Winnipeg, nephew, Dawson Reed Didur of Brandon, niece, Lynette (and Ford) Widrig of Rankin Inlet and great niece, Maeve Widrig and great nephew, John Robin Widrig of Rankin Inlet.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held for Myron on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00 pm from the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin with Very Rev. Fr. Oleg Bodnarski officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ethelbert Cemetery.
