Muriel Bedrosian
1936-2021
BEDROSIAN, Muriel
Annie
Muriel Annie (Cunningham) passed away on November 18, 2021,
peacefully at her home. She was in the company of her only child, her
daughter, Leanne. Muriel was a lover of country music, and that music
filled the room and sent her off to her next journey.
She was born November 28, 1936, in Blacklands, Restigouche
County, New Brunswick to the late Archie and Margaret (Nichol)
Cunningham. Muriel is predeceased by her husband, Albert
Bedrosian (2002) and his parents, Humpartz and Hasmig
Bedrosian.
Muriel leaves behind her brother John Cunningham (Willa),
sisters Olive Sartor (Guido) of Guelph Lorraine Holmwood (the late
Tom) of Calgary, Alberta and sister-in-law Elizabeth (Beth) Bedrosian
(the late Dr. George) of Guelph. Others left to grieve are Uncle
Donald Nichol (Maria) of Guelph and Aunt Viola
“Nikki” Diodati of Niagara Falls, numerous cousins,
nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and
nephews.
Predeceasing her are siblings; Catherine Turner (the late
Bill), James (Cus) Cunningham (Sharon), William (Bill) Cunningham
(Geraldine), her beloved twin sister, Marion Mahoney (the late Mike),
Gilbert Cunningham all of Guelph and Jean Dehaan (the late Samuel) of
Kitchener. She is also predeceased by brother-in-law Paul Bedrosian
(the late Grace) of Guelph.
Muriel was involved in The Eastern Star, IODE and was a
long-standing member of Knox Presbyterian Church. She was instrumental
in the start-up of the Christmas wrapping for donations program at
Stone Road Mall raising money for charities.
In her younger years, you could find her roller skating,
playing hockey, running in the Thanksgiving Day road races and going
to barn dances. She often said that they had the best times while
growing up. Curling, playing cards and going to charitable fashion
shows were special times with her group of friends. You could often
find her helping her husband out at the shop – Bedrosian
Brothers Rubber Stamps.
In her retirement years, she found great pleasure in hosting
and opening her home up to many young men and women from across the
world. Many of them remain in contact and have come back to Guelph,
sometimes with their parents or spouses, to visit her. She is known as
Mom to them and has extended family in China, France, Japan and Spain.
