PALFREY, Muriel Ann
Muriel Palfrey died peacefully, at Nipissing Manor, Corbeil. She was 84 years old. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Thomas Palfrey (1932-1981). She was the beloved mother of Jim Palfrey (Donna) of Oshawa, Sandi Westra (Ron) of Burlington and Andy Palfrey (Monica) of Powassan. She will be lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Muriel is survived by her foster brother Andy Varady (Gail) of Trout Creek and was predeceased by her sister Dalmer “Dal” Gourley and her brother Don Cowden. Muriel was a long-time resident of The Pines in Powassan and was well known in the local card-playing circles. The Palfrey family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Wednesday, February 17. 2021 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Due to COVID-19 protocols, all visitors must schedule an appointment by calling the funeral home, 705-724-2024. Masks must be worn; social distancing must be maintained; and hand sanitization is mandatory upon entry. A restricted capacity funeral service will follow. The service will be available via ZOOM (see NOTES below for link) If you wish, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation are suggested.
