Mitchell Donald Short
1964-2021
Mitchell Short of Riverview passed away on Wednesday,
December 15, 2021 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in
Fredericton he was the son the late Murray and Annice (Carpenter)
Short.
Mitch was the Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention for 7 years of
his 31 year career with the Riverview Fire Department. He was first
and foremost a family man who loved the outdoors and enjoyed time
spent sailing, touring trips, ice climbing, and was a Venture Manager
at Cape Enrage, loved cycling, hiking and was known for his cooking
skills and was a Patriots fan at heart. Mitch had
a strong faith and was available to help those in need giving to
others volunteering with the Harvest House.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of over 34 years
Patricia (Calvert) Short; daughters Sarah (Jonathan) Steeves, Emily
Short (Jonathan Knowles); sister Elizabeth Short; nieces Allison,
Charissa; nephews Justin, Jordan and Josh. Aside from his
parents he was predeceased by a brother Sergeant Robert
Short.
Mitch’s family will be receiving friends and
relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday December 21, 2021 from
2:00 – 4:00 pm and from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, December
22, 2021 at the Moncton Wesleyan Celebration Center at 11:00 am, with
Pastor Day Way presinding. For those wishing to attend the service,
please contact the funeral home via email or phone to reserve your
seating and provide the number group or bubble along with contact
information. For those unable to attend his service will be
live-streamed via Moncton Wesleyan Church Live or UTube.
Donations made to the Harvest House, Moncton SPCA or CARMA would be
