With heavy hearts our family announces the peaceful passing of Michele “Cookie” Lauzon in the morning hours of July 17, 2021.
Michele was born to Nykola “Mike Sr.” and Edith Solomon on August, 31st, 1941 in Dryden, Ontario.
She was united in marriage to her lifelong soul mate Albert Lauzon on May 6,1961 and lived a wonderful life together on Phair Avenue in Fort Frances, Ontario.
Michele worked at several jobs making friends that added to her life. She was best known for her custom cakes as the sole proprietor of Cake Talk. She loved to make cakes for people in the region and to see the smiles when their requests were turned into art. Her beautiful wedding cakes were in demand from Winnipeg to Sault Ste Marie.
She loved the people of the community and was a dedicated community servant as an active member of the Order of Royal Purple Fort Frances Auxiliary and Knox United Church. Michele never needed to be persuaded to play bingo and enjoyed many hours dabbing and gabbing with her friends. Benevolent and kind she had genuine concern for her many friends, neighbors and people in need. A beautiful soul.
Her greatest joy was her family of which she was extremely proud. Her love and support were enduring and will be sorely missed by all of us.
Michele will be lovingly remembered by her children Lyndon (Tanis), Sharla-Rae(Bennie) Quinn, Melinda (Jason) Eldridge; grandchildren Anthony Lauzon, Emily Lauzon, Ryan Lauzon, Lauren Matheson, Joceyln Matheson, Gordon Matheson, Donald Matheson, Andrew Eldridge, Brianna Eldridge, Alina Eldridge; Siblings, Michael (Darla) Solomon; Wilma Amirault; Margaret Solomon; 7 great grandchildren and numerous other family members and close friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Albert, parents Nycola and Edith Solomon, infant son Marc; Siblings, George, James, Vicki Pat.
At Michele’s request no service will be held. Cremation will take place with a family memorial at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Moorehouse and the staff at RainyCrest for their compassionate care of Michele.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name (if desired) to RainyCrest Auxilliary or the Canadian Cancer Society.
