With sadness we announce the passing of our loved one born January 22, 1929 and passed away on May 1st, 2021 at Hilltop Manor at the age of 92 years.
Michael was born on Bell Island, NL and travelled to Toronto, ON and Galt where he worked for C.N. Railway until his retirement and resided at Jacob Hespeler Seniors Apartment until one year ago when he was moved to Hilltop Manor.
Michael was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Stanley Bowen, brothers Cecil, Leo and George.
Michael is survived by his sisters Kathleen New Brun, Marie (Bren) Lahey, and Genevieve (Jim) Kennedy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews residing in several provinces and by cousins and friends.
Michael had many hobbies including wood carving and model ships in bottles.
The family would like to thank the caregivers, staff and Doctors at Hilltop Manor for all their care given to Michael
Family will receive guests at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge, on Tuesday, May 4th from 2-4 pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, please register (RSVP) on-line or by calling the funeral home at 519-658-9366 to attend the visitation for Michael. Masks and social distancing will be required. A Private Family Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday May 5th at 11 am with interment to follow at New Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Ontario Association of the Deaf would be appreciated by the family.
