Melba Ruby Schofield
1929 – 2021
Melba Ruby Schofield of Bridgeview Hall and formerly of Quarryville, NB, passed away at Bridgeview Hall on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the age of 92. Born in Sillikers, NB, the daughter of the Myles and Eva McAllister.
Melba was a lumber camp cook and a home maker. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Church, Quarryville, where she sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school, and was a member of St. Mark’s UCW.
Melba is survived by son: Dwight Schofield (Elaine) of Renous, NB; son in law: Melvin Scribner of Hampton, NB; grandchildren: William Schofield of Renous, NB, Marlee Schofield of Sackville, NB and Braden Clark (Emma) of Spruce Grove, AB; special nephew: Albro McAllister of Sillikers, NB, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Melba is predeceased by husbands: Ben Garrish and William Schofield; daughter: Susan Garrish-Scribner; sisters: Carmel, Molly, Glennie and Pearlene; brothers: Norman, Ingram and Harry.
A funeral service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Geza Szemök officiating. Interment will be in the Quarryville Cemetery.
Please note: all funeral attendees must provide proof of vaccination upon arrival and masks are mandatory.
