Maxwell L Hussey 19452021

Maxwell L. Hussey
1945-2021
Maxwell Lorne Hussey was born
September 20th, 1945 in Herring Neck. He passed away peacefully at
Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital on August
19th, 2021 with family by his
side.
He was predeceased by his parents
Claude and Olive Hussey, his brother Hector Hussey and father-in-law
Willie Cooper. He leaves to mourn with fond memories wife Audrey of 55
years, daughters Sue (Jerry) Elliott, Karina (James) Arnold and Beth
(Eugene) Hynes; 6 grandchildren Jenna, Mitchel, Nathan, Laura, Carter
and Tyler, step-grandchildren Madison and family, Mackenzie and
Mitchell, sister Barbara (Dayeton) Larson, as well as in-laws Nina
Cooper, Mary Ann Hussey, Howard (Christine) Cooper, Diane
(Lorne) Gidge, Peter (Lorraine) Cooper, Aunt Merle Bailey and
numerous other family and friends.
Max was not only a teacher but
also a master boat builder, carpenter, and self-taught
musician.
He enjoyed spending time in his
store working on boats and other projects. Playing his guitar and
accordion for his family and friends brought him great
joy.
As a man of great faith, he spent
28 years serving his church as a lay reader. He
enjoyed spending his summers in Herring Neck at his cabin, where he
loved to fish and take family and friends on boat rides. He was a
loving husband and father, and his grandchildren were his pride and
joy.
Max was known as a very
genuine person with a great sense of humour and had a positive impact
on the lives of many. He will be dearly missed by all who
knew him.
The family would like to thank
all of the health care staff involved in his care, especially his home
support workers and Jane Bath. We would also like to thank
Julianne, those who participated in the
funeral, and family and friends for their love and
support.
Keeping with Max’s wishes cremation has taken
place. A memorial service by
invitation only, will take place from St.
Peter’s Anglican Church on Sunday Aug 22, 2021 at
2pm.
Donations in Max’s
memory may be given to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada and
Candlelighters Association of NL., which is a volunteer charitable
organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children
with cancer and their families since 1982. There
primary aim is to be a support group whose goal is to provide the
families of children diagnosed with cancer with information, emotional
support and unique understanding. In keeping with that aim,
Candlelighters provides emotional, peer support for our families as
the need is identified – at diagnosis, before surgery,
during hospitalization, upon relapse, in times of crisis, as death
approaches, during bereavement; as well as when a child finishes their
program of treatment and continue to progress with a normal
life.
