Lohnes, Mary Ellen. Peacefully and surrounded by family at her home in Simcoe on Monday, December 27, 2021. Mary (nee Andrews) Lohnes, formerly of Oshawa, in her 79th year. Predeceased by Peter Ward (2016) and Ross Lohnes (1980). Inspirational and beloved mother of Kimberley and Mike Arnold of Simcoe and Kathryn and Rob Bromley of Waterloo. Loving grandmother of Andrew, Spencer and Alysha. Cherished sister of Ron and Jean Andrews, Freida MacNeill (late Ron), Sharon and Orval Kocher, Shirley Arnold (Terry Garland), Dave and Cathy Andrews and the late Albert, Douglas, Eric, Dorothy and Audrey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary retired from Durham College having worked there as a baker in food services. Mary was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed by all those who knew her. A family graveside service will be arranged at a later date at Foxboro Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, The War Amps, The Humane Society or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to COOPER FUNERAL HOME, Jarvis (519) 587-4414.
