Mary Elizabeth Vandenburg December 2nd 1956 December 7th 2021

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Elizabeth Vandenburg announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Bluewater Health, at the age of 65. Beloved wife of Terry Vandenburg. Loving mother of Tanya Easter (Ryan), Brent Vandenburg (Jennifer), and Stacey Vandenburg. Cherished grandmother of Cody Regimbald, Catherine Easter, Kyle Regimbald, Olivia Easter, Hailey Easter, and Bryson Johnston. Dear sister of Kathy Bishop (Eldon), Valerie Randall (Josh), and sister-in-law of Ron Vandenburg. Mary will be deeply missed by her niece Michelle Nicefield, nephews Bryan Bishop, Justin Randall and Jeff Randall, and their families, as well as her many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Predeceased by her mother Beverly Hache, father Valmond Hache; her mother-in-law Audrey Vandenburg, and her father-in-law Pete Vandenburg. Mary is now at peace after she battled strong for nearly 6 years with her health ailments, overcoming the odds time and time again. Despite her battles, nothing ever stopped her from looking out for her family and giving the best hugs. While Mary loved spending time sitting outside on her porch, watching the boats under the Bridge, going for drives with her husband to look for eagles, and playing bingo; the thing she loved most was her family. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life and she loved having them over for visits, playing board games and spoiling them with treats. Everyone who knew her felt her love. Mary always put everyone’s needs before her own and made sure her family was taken care of. She will leave a great void in our hearts. Mary’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Mary’s doctors, nurses, PSW’s, community paramedics, local EMS and all of the staff at Bluewater Health. She received such compassionate care over the years, which will always be remembered. “A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.” Until we meet again. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mary’s life will be announced at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Bluewater Health Foundation or a charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
