Mary “Eleanor” Smith
1928-2021
Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by
family on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 of Mrs. Eleanor Smith (nee Byrne) of
Charlottetown, age 93 years.
Beloved wife of the late Lorne Smith and dear mother of Don
(Susan) Smith, Aletha Smith, Gerald (Diane) Smith, and Robert Smith,
all of PEI. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jeela
(Brandon), Dawn and Jennifer (Quill), Jonathan (Ashley) Green, Thomas
and Daniel Buchanan-Smith; great grandchildren Meeka and Kihew;
sister, Bernice Scott and her brother-in-law Thomas
“Goldie” Smith.
She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Maisie (nee
MacDonald) Byrne; brothers Gerald and Joe (Mary) Byrne, and infant
daughter Lorna.

Home.
Due to current restrictions, the visitation and Funeral Mass
will be private (invitation only).
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church with
interment later in the Roman Catholic Cemetery,
Charlottetown.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or the Heart & Stroke
Foundation of PEI.
